This award was created in 1998 to honor and remember Dr. Richard Yorkey, a noted author and educator who loyally and actively contributed to Northern New England TESOL for many years. The purpose of this grant is to provide support for professional development, such as a course or courses in the ESL field, to any NNETESOL member who does not get support for professional development from his/her organization.

Annual Due Date: October 15th - college course or training opportunity must be completed within one (1) year of this due date

Eligible Applicants: Any NNETESOL member without benefits for professional development and working in the ESL field with or without an ESL degree.

Grant Amount: Up to $800 per year to one or more applicants, applicant will only be awarded one grant per year.

NNETESOL Mainstream Teacher Award

This award recognizes the many mainstream classroom teachers who contribute to the academic success of English language learners in their schools.

Annual Due Date: October 15th

Grant Amount: $50 gift certificate, letter of recognition sent to his/her principal, and free
admittance to a NNETESOL conference
